Haunn

Until the 21st century, Eriskay was a ferry journey from South Uist and the ferries docked at Haunn, which has now become a redundant little terminal. But the views are good.

It’s hard to see but we are looking west towards the Eriskay causeway but with land beyond it, it hardly shows. But again we get the picture of four seasons each day. A few minutes before one of us had been swimming off Rhuban and now we occupied a grey world.

Here was the slipway where the little ferries must once have docked to load and unload vehicles.

The jetty was no doubt where people went to make the ferries fast. Ort should that be they went there to make the ferries stationary?

An undersea mosaic had been created. Surely so many plastic fish boxes couldn't just have been dumped?
