We took a journey around Acairseid Mhòr or Eriskay Loch in search of the seals we had seen from the other side.
And there they were, perched and resting on a small area of dry land.
We can zoom in, of course, but with such relaxed seals we could also spend time trying to get a good(ish) picture through binoculars.
OK. I’ve stretched that one a little far but it’s not too bad for my little camera.
We could also enjoy the view out to sea – facing east.
There were the remains of an old black house to see and of course, the local flora.
It was all delightful, but there was more to see, via the ferry terminal again, where I had spotted a good viewing point perched above it.
There’s the 21st century docking area looking across to Barra (above) and the view north towards South Uist (below).
A lonely island, out at sea. It was Lingeigh (Lingay), I believe.
