On to Benbecula

We made a last stop on South Uist. It had been home for three nights and I had fallen in love with the place and was sorry to leave. But we were on the very edge – the causeway that linked South Uist with Benbecula.

No! We saw no otters except for the floaters in my eye.

South Uist is on this side of the water and across the little channel is Benbecula.

Both sides were a mass of gulls of various types.

So farewell to the mountains of South Uist We were heading north, across the causeway.

But those assorted gulls made life here very enjoyable. They seemed to be full of life whether on South Uist…

… or Benbecula

The causeway crosses sand flats and is about a kilometre long,

but the bridge that allows the movement of water and marine life is really small. Gramasdail is on South Uist. Aird (nan Struban) is Benbecula

Yes, that’s it – a mere nothing really.
