I suppose this would not be everybody’s first choice coffee stop. For starters, you needed your own coffee and there are those who prefer others to make it for them. Also, it was very exposed so on rainy days it would probably be awful. But the rocks – they were just fantastic so for me it was a glorious spot.
Look at those colours and swirls. You can almost see the molten lava flowing from the volcano and then setting solid.
It was just a magical scene.
It provided comfortable seating as well.

Very much a ‘cheers’ place!
I love the swirls but on a rather flat day for lighting they benefit from a bit of enhancement.
Magic. Just magic. For me it was worth going all that way just for these rocks on the beach at Uig, Lewis.
