A stream tumbled down the hills into Uig Bay. It seemed worthy of a look because the map said, ‘waterfall’.

There was the stream and a little up stream we found the waterfall.

Yes, the scenery was dramatic here.

A walker was seeking out photographic viewpoints and was about to cross the old bridge.

A new and bigger road bridge has been built beyond.

We met a lady with some kids and I chatted. I had noted a Uig address on the window of her car so suggested she might be a local.
‘Oh yes’, she replied in impeccable Oxford English. ‘We live at The Lodge’. She airily pointed at the building on the hill which we had thought might be a hotel.

Yes, it looked quite a place really.
Our friend had been taking her children pool jumping and was at pains to tell us where the best swimming place was – along a footpath built for the parishioners to use!
But we were heading for the waterfall.

It proved impossible to get truly close.

Posing, but not pool jumping!

Finding a good viewpoint to see the waterfall.

What a lovely spot Uig had been but we had lots to see on this day so we needed to start the journey back.
